Recovery Oriented Systems of Care Bibliography
In recognition of Recovery Month 2011, this year's essay contest invited individuals who have been supported in their recovery by medications, including methadone or buprenorphine for opioid addiction and acamprosate or naltrexone for alcohol addiction, to share their stories.
Fostering the development of recovery-oriented services and systems is a priority for SAMHSA's Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT). CSAT is leading this shift from an acute care model to a chronic model of care.
Through programs such as National Recovery Month, the Recovery Community Support Program (RCSP), Access to Recovery (ATR), and the Recovery Summit, CSAT has moved recovery to the top of its priorities and efforts to enhance the availability and quality of addiction treatment in the United States. (GLATTC, 2007)
The ATTC Network is dedicated to working to move this effort forward by building awareness and skills of recovery-based care among the addictions treatment and recovery workforce.
Through online conversation and the exchange of ideas, Faces & Voices of Recovery's Online Book Club will expand the growing advocacy network, strengthening the movement. Faces & Voices of Recovery invite you to submit a book of your choice to be discussed!
